Diastema

This is a very common clinical situation in which the teeth are spaced apart, creating unsightly spaces. It can have to do with the presence of a persistent labial frenum or with a tooth size discrepancy (teeth with reduced size).

The treatment for diastema can vary from the placement of orthodontic appliances to dental veneers or filling the space with aesthetic composite resins.
