Therefore, during the first dental consultation, a panoramic radiograph is taken. This shows all hard tissues such as teeth, maxilla, mandible, the bony constituents of the temporomandibular joint, and also some lesions like cysts and tumors.
Additionally, dental X-rays are taken as deemed appropriate by the dentist. Furthermore, a general observation and medical history are conducted. Along with an oral examination (involving teeth, gums, and mucous membranes), scaling and polishing (commonly known as “cleaning”), which involves the removal of stains and application of fluoride on the tooth surfaces.
Following the initial diagnosis, it’s important to schedule follow-up appointments according to the required treatments.
Ultimately, we reccomend routine appointments every 6 months. During these visits, the patient’s health status is updated, and a dental cleaning is performed.
