Removable Prosthesis
Sometimes, the extraction of one or several teeth is unavoidable. Prosthodontics (prosthesis) is defined as the area of Dental Medicine responsible for planning and placing structures capable of replacing teeth, with a shape identical to them, thus restoring chewing, phonetic and aesthetic function.
Thus, there are two ways of carrying out this rehabilitation: through a removable or fixed prosthesis. As for the first, and as the name indicates, it allows the patient to remove and place it daily, without difficulties, and there is no need for the dentist to intervene, and the prosthesis is retained by the gums or remaining natural teeth.
As for the second option, the fixed prosthesis, it requires the intervention of the dentist for it's placement and removal, leaving the prosthesis retained on implants or natural teeth prepared for the placement of the prosthesis.
